Satellite Art Fair Miami

Square Art Projects is pleased to participate in the 2015 edition of Satellite Fair in Miami. Curated by Tiger Strikes Asteroid, New York, an international selection of 40 artist-led projects will take over the Ocean Terrace Hotel during Art Basel Week.
We will be in Room #106, exhibiting ‘Above and below the waterline’, an installation of six international contemporary artists, inspired by David Hockney’s iconic series of swimming pools.

OFF THE SHELF

Copies of 'El Secuestro de la Ministra de la Cultura' by Deborah Castillo have been selected for 'Off the Shelf', an artist book festival dedicated to artist’s publications at Iklectik, London. With a variety of formats and editions, 'Off the Shelf' brings together artist books that experiment with an array of styles drawn from an international open call.

Sluice Art Fair

Square Art Projects is pleased to participate in Sluice Art Fair 2015 with 35 other local and international galleries and initiatives.We are partnering with The Dorado Project from New York, to present recent work of seven contemporary artists.
We are also presenting 'Abstract Revival' as part of the Sluice_Talks Programme, a conversation between artists Juan Bolivar, Enrico Gomez and Piers Veness, introduced by art historian Ben Street.

Vereda Tropical at the V&A

Square Art Projects is pleased to have been selected by Art Licks to present 'Vereda Tropical', a screening of Venezuelan video art outside the main entrance to the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
'Vereda Tropical' explores narrative and storytelling through the work of four video artists, and the event will foster artistic dialogue between Latin American art and the audience at the V&A.

Vereda Tropical - Art Licks Weekend

Square Art Projects is pleased to participate at Art Licks Weekend 2013, with Vereda Tropical, a cross-section of Venezuelan video art, shown in London for the first time.. Deborah Castillo´s cathartic video piece concerns bereavement and loss; Jorge Dominguez Dubuc video transforms the Venezuelan plains into mystical settings; Bernardita Rakos creates reenactments of traditional Bolero songs; and Jaime Castro Oroztegui films silent reels of the inhabitants of a Caracas shanty-town as they travel on a cable car.

4, Rue Des Matelots
Arles July, 2013
Square Art Projects in pleased to present 4 Rue de Matelots, a photography exhibition by three Venezuelan artists in Arles, France. The exhibition coincides with the city’s annual photographic festival, Les Rencontres d’Arles.
Nicola Noemi Coppola will be showing Chimiographies. Salin de Giraud, an artist’s book and a video piece that explores the landscape around La Carmargue. Katherine Di Turi presents a selection of photographs from the Chalk Portraits Series; and Rafael Serrano will exhibit photographs of assemblages created from elements from his surroundings, captured at different moments of the day.

Square Art Projects in pleased to present Astúries 15, a dual exhibition of new works by contemporary artists Blanca Haddad and Michael Swaney.
For Astúries 15, Blanca shows a series of recent paintings that develops her narrative style through portraiture.
Michael Swaney presents a series of portraits and abstract collage on paper, as well as some studies for imagined performances.
This show is possible thanks to the generosity of Blanca Haddad and Anna Mears.

Square Art Projects in pleased to present 8 Egerton Garden Mews, an exhibition of six international contemporary artists in a vacant commercial space in South Kensington, London.
Six artists from Latin America and Europe will be presenting recent conceptual and abstract work within the idiosyncrasies of the space, the work hung in such a way as to interact with and consider the venue on new terms, in contrast to its original use.
The exhibition is possible thanks to the kind support of Brompton Design District and South Kensington Estates.

Paramito

Square Art Projects in pleased to present Paramito, a group exhibition showcasing works by thirteen local and international artists in a private residence in Caracas.
The ground floor of a private villa will be transformed into an exhibition space to display paintings, sculpture, photography, collage and drawings allowing viewers to explore different approaches to contemporary art.
